Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
Ask the Tropers is for:
- • General questions about the wiki, how it works, and how to do things.

- • Reports of misbehavior or abuse by other tropers.
Ask the Tropers is not for:

Cello Solo of death: if someone has a cello solo, especially if they play "prelude to No. 1 for unaccompanied cello" by Bach, someone will die. Seen in kingdom and desperate housewives

I'm looking for a trope described thusly:
A (female) Royal (or Spoiled) Brat and Mr. Fixit are stuck on a Desert(ed) island and forced to come up with creative ways to survive/be rescues. Inevitably Belligerent Sexual Tension ensues. The Royal Brat is always unhelpful but will usually end up doing/finding the single important thing that leads to their survival (she finds the food, disables the evil pirates, flies the plane, whatever). The struggle leads to a great many Well Excuse Me Princess moments, might include Mr/Mrs Fanservice with a chance of Mud-wrestling, almost always ends with a Crowning Moment of Awesome (preferably by the brat).
Examples, Star Trek Enterprise episode "Precious Cargo" Quantum Leap episode "Leaping of the Shrew" Movie "Six Days Seven Nights" and more

What is it called when in a kid's show the character's school topics conviniently tie in with their adventures outside school?

On 10 September, The user Auxdarastrix removed 99% of the lead to the Doctor Who page (everything below the Tumblr link), including links to some subpages like Write the Next "Doctor Who" and Doctor Who Expanded Universe. I see no discussion on the discussion page, nor anything in the Trope Repair Shop preceding this removal of information.
I've added the information back, but I do have some reservations about. I take it he removed it because it was too long? I agree with that. Doctor Who is a big page. But this stuff is too integral to explaining the concepts of the nearly 50 years of this Trope Overdosed series to remove entirely. Is there a subpage for expanded leads with show concepts and whatnot? The tropes on the main page are the ones not on the Characters and Episode pages, but even then, they're nearing a possible split from the main page (like another series with a long lead has). Should those be split instead with the lead staying?

I'm kinda new to making wikis for media and putting in tropes. Can someone who watches one liter of tears help me fix the wiki I made and add more tropes? Please and Thank you. :)

A while ago, I removed links to fan uploads of Young Dracula on You Tube which were presented in the article intro in a way that implied they were official. There's now talk on the discussion page about adding them back because my removing them was just based on my personal opinion. I'm pretty sure it's a site policy, but I can't find the page. Could I get a word from a mod?

I'm not very good at this and I not sure where to put this ether, I'm intending this to be a disscussion as such, its kind of a suggestion and question in one, In Doctor Who: Colony in Space the Doctor's companion Jo Grant dose something really insainly stupid, "Jo you're standing in the beam!"souts the 3rd Dr. awhile after avoiding and getting past said beam to get in said Tardis then they are in the Master's Tardis, alerting the Master, who promptly releases sleeping gas, who then tells the Doctor gleefully that it could easilly have been posion gas, do you see my point, surly this could be mention in a topic, but which topic, thats the question, i'm new to this could someone please metion this where ever this could go??? (help?)

Newbie question, sorry. I thought I'd followed the "How Indexing Works" steps to index a new Work page (I added it to British Series- Dick And Dom In Da Bungalow, under D), but the page still says it needs an index. Is there a step I've missed, or do I just need to wait?

Where would I start a thread about cleaning up pages? In general quite a few of the Reality TV shows' pages need clean-up, but I'm not sure where to ask for help.

Hi. I was wondering, but is there a trope for sitcoms where the youngest member of the family learns a swear word and the parents have to find out where they learned it from?
I saw it last night on an episode of Good Luck Charlie, and remember seeing a similar plot in that old sitcom Growing Pains.
I wanted to launch a trope page, but want to make sure there isn't one already.

Why is YMMV.Outnumbered locked? It desperately needs an Example Indentation fix.

I am Troper agentjohnbishop and am here to discuss what has been going on in YMMV section of the Series/Sherlock. It will be easiest to understand by looking at the last three days of history, but in a nutshell a troper named Prometheus Unbound has been repeatedly making wildly opinionated and angry posts about how much he disliked a specific episode and placing these under the heading of Big Lipped Alligator Moment. I originally left his post intact but added on a small note that said "the above is of course Your Mileage May Vary and many like the episode". He edited that anyone who feels this way should have there head checked. Since then other tropers have deleted the entire exchange (as I should have done in the first place) but he has put it back in an expanded and increasingly rude form. He should be either banned or the entry should be locked.

Question: Does Ultraman's Specium Ray count as a Hand Blast? It's not from his fist or fingertips, but from the side of his hand. See the page image.◊ It shoots from his right hand in that pose.

I am currently making edits on the Degrassi page that are being removed by two other users. Is there some sort of process we can go through to avoid an "edit war". Such a thing is pointless and is only wasting all of our time so if there is an official resolution we can come to it would be greatly appreciated. Also I am under an "Edit Lock" meaning I have to wait 20 minutes before making an edit. Is this normal or am I being punished/reprimanded for some offense. I have tried stating my case on the Degrassi Character Discussion but it seems to have done no good. I’m not trying to make trouble or be a troll so any help/information would be greatly appreciated.

I'm fairly certain that TheMentalist had a headscratchers page. Did someone remove it? I just wanted to be sure, since I wanted to add one.
Is there a reason why Queen of Swords is under "Series" rather than "Main"? Can/should it be moved?
